2024 Donn’s Teamster School Workshops
Beginning Teamster Training - Part One
This hands-on program will cover harnessing, driving, and hooking teams and single horses. Emphasis will be on safety, and preparing horses and teamsters for new tasks. D ring and Western style harness will be used. Small ratios of students to instructors ensures lots of participation and learning.
April 19-21 2024: Fri 1 pm, Saturday 8 am to 5pm, and Sunday until 1 pm. $350 per student.
Includes Saturday and Sunday lunch, and Saturday night Dinner. Camping available.

Beginning Teamster Training - Part Two
This hands-on program will be a continuation of part one where we focus on putting the animals and teamsters to productive tasks. Garden prep, Logging, and mowing may all be practiced. Small ratios of students to instructors ensures lots of participation and learning.
May 17-19 2024: Fri 1 pm, Sat 8 am to 5 pm, and Sunday until 1 pm. $350 per student.

Logging with Horses
This hands-on program is for teamsters with some previous experience working with horses. We will demonstrate and practice safe techniques for everything from single horse homestead firewood gathering to carts and commercial timber extraction. This is not a chainsaw class, however felling and chainsaw safety with horses will be explained and demonstrated.
